The focus of this studio is the design of a public facility dedicated to the young population of the North Miami Beach area. To address this shift, the North Beach Youth Center will provide a much-needed facility, with a particular emphasis on gymnastics and related indoor sports. The design will integrate, expand, and enhance the existing skate park located on the southern edge of the site.

Our primary objective for the project was to utilize the prevailing southeast wind to minimize the need for active cooling systems. To achieve this, we incorporated various passive cooling strategies, most notably a parasol roof that covers the majority of the site, along with green roofs.

The conceptual design was developed through the deconstruction of a cube, creating modular spaces within. We aimed to allocate the public spaces to the first floor, while more private areas are placed on the second floor, with an outdoor bar situated on the third level.
